I am committed to training the next-generation computer architects. My research group has several openings for PhD students who are passionate about defining new computer architectures to solve challenging computing problems. I am also open to working with Masters and undergraduate students as research assistants.

Research Areas

  • Computer architecture and systems for deep learning

  • Machine learning for computer architecture and systems optimization

  • Hardware-assisted computer security

  • Network-on-chip, network-on-package, and datacenter interconnection network

  • Defined by YOU. I encourage students to explore interesting inter-disciplinary research areas such as but not limited to bioinformatics and quantum computing.

Funding Support

Each PhD student would be supported with about 15k RMB per month. RA would also be supported.

Advising Philosophy

  • The goal is to help students grow. The research group aims to provide a free atmosphere and equal opportunities for effective communication, mutual learning, and student growth.

  • Specializing the development plan for individual students according to their background, interests, and personality to achieve the best collaboration and chemstry.

  • Dual Tutor Scheme: besides me as the supervisor, I woud pair the student with a co-supervisor either from a top-notch university or industry, according to the student's research interest and career plan.

  • My research group would provide students with opportunities for attending top conferences, oversea academic exechange experience, and industry internships.

Requirements

  • HONEST, Curious, Self-motivated, Resilient, Hard Working, and Flexible

  • Strong masters and undergraduate students with background in computer science, computer engineering, microelectronics, electrical engineering, VLSI, etc.

  • We also welcome junior undergraduate students to participate in our projects as research assistant.

  • Priority is given to applicants with research or engineering experience in computer architecture and VLSI.
